Gymnastics Scholarships and Recruiting
In The United States there are under 100 college programs that offer the opportunity to compete in gymnastics. With a lot of very talented gymnasts, it can often times be difficult to find a gymnastics scholarship to a school that meets or exceeds your goals. The college recruiting process is a two way street. The college coach wants to make sure that the student athlete is a great match for their programs goals, and the student athlete needs to make sure that they will be overall happy attending the college/university and competing for the program. It is almost expected for top gymnasts looking to compete at the highest collegiate level to have international, national, and regional competition experience, with high places. Placing well at Level 10, will highly increase your opportunities for athletic scholarships. Earning a Gymnastics Scholarship
College gymnastics is a very competitive sport, with a ton of great athletes across the board. College coaches are looking for high school student athletes who are versatile and are able to compete in multiple different disciplines. It is very important to build a strong relationship with college coaches, because you will spend a lot of time with them and you need to believe that they are the coach and they have the program that will make you better each day. Creating a good quality video displaying your skill set helps college coaches evaluate high school student athletes much more easily. College coaches will watch video profiles of student athletes as a preliminary round of their recruiting process. If you make the cut, you could potentially see a college coach show up to see you compete.
